I have been getting the itch.
You know the one. The itch to actually make this house my own. I have lived here going on eight years and haven’t done much in the way of remodeling, decorating or fixing it up.
I guess life just kind of got busy.
On my list (of things that may never get done):
Remodel the bathroom – Pretty much a full remodel. One wall needs replaced. A new tub and surround would be nice. Install a vent since there isn’t one. And replace the carpet with tile.

Wallpaper – Yeah… We tore down wallpaper in our laundry room and never finished the job. I’d also like to wallpaper the rest of the dining room. Another unfinished project.

Replace or repair our garage door – When the garage door for your home starts acting up, it’s not fun. It’s a little annoying when you finally pull up to your house, kids screaming and crying in the back, and find the garage door won’t open. Sometimes it’s a simple dead battery in the garage door opener. Sometimes it’s not.
I think we will need to look into overhead garage repair pretty soon.
Redo the walls in the kitchen – I HATE the walls in my kitchen.
Oh. My. Gosh.
One word – Z-brick.

Apparently it was the thing to do in the 70′s. Individually paste fake bricks on your kitchen walls. Ugh.
They are nasty and hard to clean. Somehow, I will get them off of my walls so that I can paint a nice light color.
Those are the main ‘big’ projects I have on my to-do list right now. If I actually do them, that will be another story!
What about you? Do you have any big projects you would like to work on to improve your house and make it yours?

I keep getting that itch myself. In the last 6 months I’ve re-done 2 bedrooms plus my staircase & landings.
