Okay, it’s not too fancy, but it’s kind of fun.
I had an old destroyed-by-kids end table to get rid of and instead decided I would make something for the cats.
The end table.

I took out the slab of concrete/granite/whatever-the-heck-it-is and removed the top drawer from the frame and this is what I ended up with.

I removed the top of the frame which had the middle board attached to it.
I stapled fabric to make an area underneath where the cats could climb into and hide if they wanted. (thanks to my hubby for the idea!)

I replaced the top of the frame and made a cushion to go in the front hole and covered the back hole with cardboard and a cheap carpet. I cut a little square in the carpet and cardboard to be used as the tunnel to the hiding place for the cats.

I found some cheap fur strip remnants and stapled it around the frame to add to the look a little.
Here is the finished project with my model, Isis.

There are so many possibilities for this. I may end up hanging some cat toys from the sides for them to play with.
What do you think? Any cool ideas?

This is so cool! My cats would love something like this. They are always getting into drawers anyway!
So cute! I love that it resembles something they probably aren’t supposed to be tearing into which no doubt makes it more appealing for them.
That’s great! I have all kinds of refurbishing or re-purposing ideas…in my head. They never made it to fruition.
It’s never too late.
I’ve just been in a redo things kind of mood lately.
really cute idea. If you wrap the legs in sisal you’ll have additional scratching posts!
That’s a great idea!
