‘Mr. Biggs in the City’ by Kevin Bloomfield is a very charming and heartwarming tale about a very large Sasquatch.
Mr. Biggs lives in the forest and discovers the city one day while climbing in the trees. He decides to visit the city because it looks very interesting to him. In the city, Mr. Biggs has many adventures. Mr. Biggs rides a bike, tries out skateboarding, and even tries to drive a car. He soon discovers that he is too big to do all of the things that one does in the city. Will he ever find something fun? Something he isn’t too big for in the city? You’ll have to read it for yourself…
Our Opinion
Throughout the story I felt sad for Mr. Biggs and hoped that he would find something to do, somewhere he could fit in inside the city. I love that there is a ‘moral’ to the story. Kids will learn that no matter how big or small you are, or if you don’t fit in doing one thing, there will always be another place where you will fit in. If you’re not good at one thing, just keep searching and you will find something you are good at.
My toddler has enjoyed reading this book and especially loves the last page. She loves interacting with each ‘is this fun?’ question.

This is a very colorful and lively story for children and adults to have fun and laugh with!
