Over the summer, my daughter got together with a few other children for a fun scavenger hunt. She has always loved hunting for things. I remember last Easter was the first time she really got into finding Easter eggs. For weeks after, she would continue asking to play Easter egg hunt. So, I knew she would enjoy the scavenger hunt that I found from mastersofthehunt.com.

Henry The Hippo Hunt
I chose the Henry the Hippo Hunt for my daughter and her friends. It is geared toward children up to age 6 or 7 and was perfect for her. Poor Henry lost all of his spots and wouldn’t be able to play with his friends until they were all found. So, the kids looked for all of his spots, hidden in a few different rooms. Some were hidden better than others for the older children to feel more challenged. Others were pretty easy for the younger kids to spot.

The kids were very quick at finding them all…
Faster than I thought they would be. I am very glad that I had a snack and craft planned or the party would have been over in less than five minutes! The craft was to put all of the spots they found back onto Henry.

While the kids were coloring, they were surprised by a knock on the door. They received a letter from Henry saying thank you for finding all of his spots. He was very happy to be able to play with his friends again.
Our Thoughts
I had fun making the hunt happen. I received a pdf file with the instructions and information I needed to plan the hunt, including the story of Henry the Hippo, spots that could be printed out and used and the thank you letter from Henry.
I believe all of the kids had a fun time and anjoyed the story, the hunt and the craft.
Afterward I was talking to some of the mothers who mentioned that they enjoyed the hunt, that it was cute and fun, but that being teachers they could find ideas for hunts at the library or online and not have to pay for them. I believe this is true. If you have the time and creativity to put together and plan a hunt yourself, than Masters of the Hunt is not for you. However, I think Masters of the Hunt is perfect for corporations, organizations, and busy parents who don’t have time or creativity to put a hunt together themself or run it. It is for those who would rather just pay for it to be ready made and even run by someone else.
