So, I found this lovely picture on Pinterest.

(of course it was originally found on MarthaStewart.com)
I thought, Hey! This is what my bedsheets look like right now…

So, I took my little moment of Pinsperation and decided to go with it.
I want my bedsheets to be neatly organized.
I want to have all my sheets and cases together to easily change them.
And this is what I got…

Ummm… yeah.
I guess I need to learn how to fold a fitted sheet next.
Then, maybe my sheets can be as beautiful as Martha Stewarts!

LOL! If you get them to look like that first picture … you will have to give classes. I don’t see how that is even possible with sheets!
I am Martha Stewart challenged, so they will NEVER look like that, lol!
or you just need to learn how to shove them in drawers so no one can see
Martha makes me feel VERY inadequate!
They were in drawers, then I had another child and needed the dresser space.
Now, now…didn’t you know you aren’t supposed to put children in drawers????
(hahahaha….we should put Martha in a drawer so she stops making the rest of us feel so bad!)
Oh, I literally LOL’ed on that one.
My parents didn’t have a crib for me when I was a baby, so they put some soft blankets in a dresser drawer and had me sleep in there (with the drawer open of course!).
Don’t sweat it. My sheets look like your before shot. They are all solid neutral colors so the jumble sort of blends together, that is about as bed linen organized as I am going to get…lol
P.S. Spending as much time as it would take to make your sheets look like Martha’s is flat out nuts.
Welcome to the world behind closed doors. As long as the door shuts and no one knows but you…it doesn’t count!
Yes, I think I need to figure out how to build shelves in the closet under my stairs… perfect to hide all those things.
LOL they gotta have cardboard in that first picture lol
That’s what I was thinking… they have to have something done to them to make them look so perfect and not slumpy like mine.
This totally cracked me up. Mine don’t look like the top photo but I don’t really see how people think they are hard to fold lol
I used to fold fitted sheets where I worked, but I can’t remember how I did it.
Very Funny.
It’s a step in the right direction. I have seen that idea before and thought it was awesome. Never did try it though. Just throw the sheets in the closet and shut the door. You should see my awesome ball making skills with the fitted sheets.
OH, I can only imagine the ball making skills. You saw my first picture right!
Totally saw it and I still put you to shame with the look of my sheets. It’s pretty sad lol
ROFL Yeah, nothing that I attempt from Martha Stewart ever comes out like hers!
HA HA!!!! TOO FUNNY! It actually looks a lot better than mine! lol. my step mom used to say if you can Bake like Martha Stewart then you can accomplish anything. I still cant, so I guess i fail at life!
You need white shelves! DUH!
Oh my gosh! Maybe that is the problem! White shelves will make it all better!
I tried this the other day, bc like you I think this is a great idea. Mine turned out like yours! Plus Martha has like a whole team of people to make everything look perfect, not like she does it all herself. We don’t have time to iron every fold we make. Or maybe we all need those white shelves, lol.
Well, I’m glad that it’s not just me, but I’m sorry it didn’t look magical for you either.
Lol I put mine in baskets and put the nicest looking flat sheet on top
I got the same results as you! I tried this years ago before I saw it online and I thought I was being so clever until I realized I’m not good at folding and that the sheets would look terrible no matter what I did.
That’s what I’m beginning to think!
Hee hee – this is so funny!
Would it be possible for us to repost it at craftfail.com? with a credit & a link to you, of course! let me know at heather@craftfail.com
I emailed you.
haha, this made me laugh. i think in order to get them anywhere near close to the top picture you would have to press them, starch maybe and it looks like there might be some sort of board… cardboard or something… inside the pillow cases! : )
So Martha Stewart is just trying to make me look like a fool!
Haha!
Hey, I don’t know you but will you pretty please invite me to Pinterest?
I’m excellent at folding sheets (If I do say so myself) and mine look nothing like the first either!
She must either have tiny pillowcases or huge amounts of sheets in them because when I put a king duvet cover, double sheet and 3 pillowcases in a fourth pillowcase it was still half empty….
I was sadly exited about this as the ultimate solution to my laundry cupboard but was seriously underwhelmed with my under-filled, wrinkly, saggy looking pillowcase!
I know! Mine were saggy and not full at all, even with the flat, fitted and extra pillow cases in them.

OMG! This is HYSTERICAL because it pretty much exactly mimics what mine look like after trying this! I, too, was all inspired and thought to organize my sheets better. In the end they were lumpy, mismatched, awful looking things and I decided it was way more effort than it was worth! I can’t fold a fitted sheet to save my life either, and I’ve tried so many times. LOL!
Just remember that Martha gets paid a whole lot more than you do to make that stuff look snazzy. She might iron that stuff when she folds it to make it fit just right. I know that’s the only way I could pull it off. I haven’t owned an actual ironing board in 2 years…
The only reason I have an iron is to iron material for sewing… so my sheets will never be that pretty.
