Eco Lunch Gear

Made by a mommy with the earth in mind.

We like to take trips to the park for lunch every once in a while.  I recently had the chance to try out some nifty re-usable lunch bags.  I love the idea of these lunch bags.  I’ve never been a big fan of zippie sandwich bags which you use once and throw away.  Seems very wasteful to me.  I was eager to try these out.

Eco Lunch Gear

First of all these Eco Lunch Gear sacks are adorable.  They come in a variety of different patterns.  Here are the ones I received filled with my sandwich and some animal crackers:

You can place anything in these re-usable Eco-friendly bags that you would put in a zip style baggie (except liquid items); sandwiches, grapes, carrots, chips, cookies, apple slices, cheese, etc.  The bags are made of organic cotton on the outside and have a nylon liner inside so that jelly and other messes won’t soak through to the outside and to other things in your lunch bag.

We use only 100% certified organic cotton for the exterior of our wraps and bags. This organic cotton is fully certified to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) and is also certified Fair Trade and CPSIA (Consumer Products Safety Commission Improvement Act) compliant. Learn more about organic cotton.

The liner is made of nylon with a polyurethane coating to be resistant of water, stain, mildew and rot. The coated side faces the cotton layer and does not come in contact with the food.

Care Instructions
The  bags are pretty easy to care for.  They open all of the way so that no crumbs get stuck in corners.  It is recommended to hand wash them for a longer life, but they are made to go in the washing machine.   The Velcro tabs stick to each other so they won’t snag on anything else in the machine.  You can dry them on a delicate cycle or hang them over a bowl or cup to dry within a few hours.

I really do like these little bags.  I’ve used them a few times and had no problems with spills or keeping them clean.  And they are so much cuter than zip baggies (and better for the environment).  I had a few people ask me about them.  Would you like your own?
